Hey guys - can we have a quick convo about Keanu Reeves?

My friend LD and I have been in a 3 year battle over if he is hot or not. He’s been in the Top 3 of my Crush list since 1989 (alongside a living River Phoenix and Christian Slater’s voice) and yet LD finds him gross. Is it because I’m 30 and she is a wee tot in her early 20s? Please weigh in - I need to know if my man-dar is way off.

[Also, we’re judging Keanu strictly on his looks and not his brain, which we know is made of baloney.]

I don’t know what it is, but I’ve never seen the appeal in Keanu…and yet would totally bang Bradley Pitt or Johnny Depp. I really can’t even pinpoint what it is that I don’t find attractive about him. Sorry, KS.

German photographer Bettina von Zwehl took this photo series of one-year-old babies at an instant of total (rare) concentration. Aren’t they gorgeous? Von Zwehl used toys, dvds and eye contact to get the little guys to stay still. “They sat on a table, looking at me, and I took the picture with a long cable release,” she says. Since many of the babes were still too wriggly to photograph, it took more than a year to get six final portraits. And the goal of the project? “I was hoping to present each baby as an intelligent human being,” she says.
